Inasmuch Foundation Awards $55,000 in Emergency Grants for Early Childhood and Mental Health Services
We are thrilled to announce this round of emergency grants supporting child care services for front-line workers and mental health services for vulnerable families in Central Oklahoma. “Each of these organizations worked collaboratively to serve vital needs within our community,” said Inasmuch Foundation Senior Program Officer, Sarah Roberts. “As always, our valuable partners say it best and their true leadership is outlined below. We are privileged at Inasmuch Foundation to get to work alongside these wonderful community servants.”
"I am grateful to Inasmuch Foundation for providing emergency services grants to childcare providers and mental health professionals during COVID-19. In Central Oklahoma, YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, and Special Care went above and beyond to provide childcare services for critical front-line workers. Additionally, Halo, Lilyfield, Pivot and Mental Health Association Oklahoma adapted quickly to provide mental health services to vulnerable families virtually which has been a real positive.”
Justin Brown, Secretary of Human Services & Early Childhood Initiatives and Director of Oklahoma Department of Human Services
$15,000 - Boys and Girls Club of Oklahoma County
$15,000 – Special Care
$15,000 – YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City
"These grants narrowed the funding gap that threatened our ability to serve our community and allowed us to come together to create meaningful programs for children and families. Together we've been there for the children of the first responders and essential workers, so they do not have to worry about the safety of their children when on the front lines of the COVID-19 response."
Teena Belcik, CEO, Boys and Girls Club of Oklahoma County
Pam Newby, Executive Director, Special Care
Kelly Kay, President and CEO, YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City
$5,000 - Mental Health Association Oklahoma
"Mental Health Association is working with our multiple Oklahoma City area partners to address the needs of our most vulnerable citizens, many homeless, and many affected by COVID-19 related issues."
Mike Brose, CEO, Mental Health Association Oklahoma
$5,000 – Virtual Support Group Project
“Non-profits working together side-by-side is necessary to meet the emotional needs of Oklahoma families during COVID-19 and into the future. The Virtual Support Group Project is an unprecedented format for meeting needs locally through a collaborative effort between HALO Project, Lilyfield and Pivot. In a time where we are forced to be disconnected, we must be a resource to help people know they are not alone – and whatever they are experiencing, we are there to walk them through it.”
Cindy Lee, Executive Director, HALO Project
Jennifer Goodrich, President & CEO, Pivot
Holly Towers, Director, Lilyfield
